Where was I?! Oh yeah, I survived the climb and I was absolutely amazed with the view... Let me tell you, I was also EXHAUSTED! But the day is far from finished...
We are now heading to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park where Uluru also known as Ayers Rock (click here) is, exciting exciting!! FYI - Uluru is sacred to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area so no messing around, you don't wanna bring bad luck back with you! We are aiming for the sunset, quick quick...
We do a few stops on our way anyway. First one "Fuluru" another rock which looks almost like Uluru itself (not really known by the Aussies)! It is crazy how mother nature creates all that! Fuluru on our left and beautiful fine, red sand on the right and nothing else! Second stop, in some bar lost in the middle of nowhere, quiet funny (so were the owners) and not that ugly either! This place is nuts. It is such a massive change from the east coast scenery... After visiting the Aboriginal Cultural centre (no photos allowed), here we are, right on time for the sunset...
Another great evening, the weekend is going too fast. Our flight is in a few hours. Well, plenty of time as Kate decides to wake us up at 4.30am to watch the Sunrise!! Everybody, ready to snap, is waiting for it. It is absolutely amazing, the colours are gorgeous. Definitely worth waking up so early! Ten million photos later we decide to go for a short walk around Kata Tjuta, which was amazing too but most of it closed... Our trip to Alice Springs/Ayers Rock will finish on this note. Kate is already driving us back to the camp where we have a quick snack and off to the airport!
Some of you will probably think "that was just a rock" "Australia doesn't have much history" etc etc... Well, I will answer "Australia is not only about the East coast and its beautiful beaches, go and see where it all started".
Thanks for all your lovely comments xx
